#2 Review: TUYS - More Than An Account

A driven and innovative second instalment to the 'A Curtain Call For Dreamers' series.

'More Than An Account' is the second episode in TUYS' selection of videos set in a dream state universe, 'A Curtain Call for Dreamers'. 'More Than An Account' touches on themes of online identity and digital isolation - which seems all too relevant, given the current climate. The music video expresses the perspective of an online influencer - the emotional rollercoaster of having a sought after online presence. A slick production with creative details.

The fruitful use of digitalised effects walks hand in hand with the digital premise of the song.

The track welcomes us with the slow attack of a fuzzy synth that rattles from your left to right ear. Lead singer, Tun, delivers a strong pop style vocal. This tracks makes moves away from the guitar based pysch-rock band that we are used to from TUYS. The fruitful use of digitalised effects walks hand in hand with the digital premise of the song. However, the obvious high point of the song is the heavy-rock influence gang vocals over the final chorus'.

The synth solo was a welcomed surprise - a fast paced prog pattern that goes as fast as it appears. An element that would be out of place in any other TUYS track, but in this modern whirlwind it somehow works.
